I work with associate professional clinical counselors, marriage and family therapists, and clinical social workers who need clinical supervision to reach full licensure in California. I believe supervision is the key to developing counselors’ full potential.  I strive to create a supervisory alliance rooted in trust, respect and open two-way communication with an emphasis on giving and receiving effective feedback.  I do not expect, nor do I intend, for supervisees to practice just like me. Instead, I hope to help each supervisee craft their unique way of helping clients.

As a clinical supervisor, I wear 3 hats: teacher, consultant, and counselor. Supervisees may need to practice using helping skills or writing case notes, in which I would wear the teacher hat. We may do role play, demos, and actually write notes together. Supervisees will bring specific client situations that may require consulting about best practices and potential resources to bring to their next session. Supervisees may also find that they have struggles with confidences and imposter syndrome. In these cases, I may wear the counselor hat to process with the supervisee about the ways self-doubt impacts their counseling work and seek to build confidence and resilience.

I also integrate concepts of Internal Family Systems into supervision through case conceptualization and strengthening counselor professional identity.  Ethics, advocacy and multicultural competencies are crucial elements in counseling and the supervisee will learn how to integrate these into their practice.

• Individual clinical supervision rate is $120 per 1-hour session.

• Group clinical supervision rate is $60 per 2-hour session.
